Welcome to my “About” page. I created this page to give you some insight as to who I am, where I come from, and what has made me who I am today. We all have our own story and influences that make us who we are. I am honored to be apart of your journey and I hope to be a positive influence for you. I hope you enjoy this page and come to know a little more about me. I look forward to learning about all my students
“Our life is an endless journey; it is like a broad highway that extends infinitely into the distance. The practice of meditation provides a vehicle to travel on that road. Our journey consists of constant ups and downs …” – Chogyam Trungpa
I started my education at St. Joseph’s Catholic School until 5th grade where I would finish my primary education at Sikes Elementary in south Lakeland. My next stop would be at Southwest Junior High School (now known as Southwest Middle). The high school I would attend would be Lakeland Senior High School. While at LHS I was apart of a student club known as Future Educators of America and also played Varsity Football. I was a two year starter at Center. I was voted two time all county and would go on to play on two of the first ever undefeated teams for LHS Football. I had to put myself through college and started at what was then called Polk Community College. After five years of working construction and taking classes at PCC I transferred to Warner Southern College which is in Lake Wales, FL. While attending Warner Southern I started working at LHS as a Paraprofessional where I ran the Media Center’s computer lab. in 2003 I graduated Warner Southern with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with a minor in Public Administration and Information Technology. Upon obtaining my BA degree I would acquire my teaching credentials and begin teaching at LHS. Later, I would enroll at Full Sail University where I would graduate with my Master’s degree in Educational Media Design and Technology. Currently I’m looking for a second Master’s degree or possibly a Doctorates degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE – top
I consider myself a jack of all trades. I’ve worked many different jobs in my journey. None of which has been as gratifying and fulfilling as teaching young people. I have a dying love for making a difference in the lives of today’s youth. My goal as a teacher is to expose students to my field of study while encouraging them to further their educational career at a post secondary institute.

I was born in Miami, Florida on October 12th 1976. My father is a second generation Scottish American and my mother is Puerto Rican. My parents divorced when I was 10 years old. I have three siblings, all of which are younger than me. My brother Danny has his degree from Professional Golfers Career College where he is currently seeking his pro-card. My sister Lisa graduated from Jacksonville University with a degree in English Literature. My youngest brother, Mikey, is currently attending the University of Florida where he is studying to be a Mechanical Engineer. I am married to the love of my life Courtney. She is a Behavior Specialist and works for Pasco County School Board. I have a 7year old Boston Terrier named Herschel and he is my best friend in the world.
I am and always be a kid at heart. My hobbies include sports, traveling, snow boarding, working on web sites and playing on my XBox. I love anything that allows for me to be competitive. My favorite sports teams are: Oregon and Georgia Football, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, and the Boston Bruins. I love to cook! In fact, I won’t even let my wife in the kitchen. The kitchen is my domain! I love to cook traditional Puerto Rican and Italian cuisine.
I started coaching football at the high school level right after graduating from LHS. My size didn’t allow for me to go onto play college ball and I wasn’t interested in playing at smaller schools. I coached JV offensive line and assisted with the varsity for 7 years. I would later move up to varsity where I coached the Tight Ends for a couple of years. Later, I would move onto coach the Running Backs where I would finish my coaching career. I had the great fortune to coach some great athletes such as Joe Rodman, Steve Chancey, Jamar Taylor, and Chris Rainey. After 15 years of coaching at Lakeland High School, I decided it was time hang my whistle up. I had acquired 5 state and 2 national championships. My football coaching career extended from 1995 to 2009.
In 2011 I picked up the whistle once again. This time, however, it was Girls Cross Country. This was a very different experience compared to Varsity Football. That being said, this was one of the most fun years I’ve had in coaching.
